Incensed fragrances

Incense belongs to the sky. By its nature it rises, because the resins it’s made of (frankincense, myrrh, elemi, benzoin) dissolve into light molecules with heat. Born from those materials, incense fragrances also seem to rise as if in a nave, vertical and rarefied. And because they take time, and require time, they suspend whoever breathes them in a kind of waiting. They stop you: they captivate. It’s perfumery’s oldest register.
